We love the web.

Welcome to Crashpod 4.0

Welcome to the new hotness Crashnauts! After a week of diving into Wordpress, we’re happy to launch this far more robust and mature version of Crashpod. The Wordpress publishing system truly is a great example of the open-source software movement: installing the scripts and creating the new Crashpod theme was surprisingly simple, with only a few bumps and twists here and there.

One of the first things I’d like to advocate is for everyone to sign up for a Crashpod account. Just hit the login link and you’ll see the option for registration. It’s a quick and simple process, and you can have Crashpod remember you, so you won’t have to login or enter your name each time you comment.

In addition to comments, registered users can now post Destination Links directly, no more waiting for your lazy admins catch up on their email. This kind of instant gratification is something I’ve been wanting give users for a while, as the more you can interact with a website, the more interesting it becomes.

In the future we hope to continue adding features to the pod: stick around and see what happens!

A Well Deserved Break

This week I’m fortunate enough to be spending some time unwinding and generally cooling down during my first break from the new job. Whilst off, I’ll be investing a good deal of my time giving crashpod some of the tender lovin’ care she’s been deserving for the last couple months.

So, in typical style I’m just tossing that out there so anybody noticing problems, breakages, and or total catastrophic meltdowns will give us the benefit of the doubt, knowing we’ve got your best interests at heart. With that said, I’ve got some improvements and surprises in store, so keep any eye out as we move away from the oft-maligned Nucleus CMS to a shiny new Version 2.0 install of Wordpress!
