These liquid nitrogen cooled overclockers are getting crazy! Apparently a Japanese overclocker was able to push his Intel Pentium 4 670 to 7.1Ghz using a liquid nitrogen cooled setup. According to the statement, he was able to set a world record on calculating pi to 1 million places in 18.516 seconds.
The speed and power of the PC have reached a level such that most home users have little need to continue upgrading. It’s good to see enthusiasts are still pushing the limits of home PC hardware. Sustaining this market will continue to lead to new materials for processors and the need to increase system memory. How would 8GB sticks of RAM sound?
