I Just heard about this great site called You Send It. The gist of the site is, say you want to send someone a large file or a number of files in an archive. You don’t want to (or can’t) attach the file to an email. With You Send It, all you do is type the recipient’s email address, browse to the file you want to send (up to 1GB) and click “send it”. The file is transferred securely to You Send It’s servers using SSL (the same technology that makes web banking safe) and an email is sent to you and your recipient detailing how to retrieve the file. The service is totally free and has received very high marks from some notable sources. No signing up for an account, no fees, fast up/down speeds and SSL level security. Give it a try, see what you think!
Good news for Beck fans. On December 13 Beck will be releasing a remix album of this spring’s hit record “Guero.” According to Cool Hunting, Beck personally selected 13 artists to remix the tracks for a new compilation entitled “Guerolito.” Some of the bands you can expect to hear reimagining the sounds of Guero include The Beastie Boys’ Adrock, French synth-rockers Air and the Canadian ambient tones of Boards of Canada. In addition to well known artists, the album will also feature cuts from lesser knowns such as Diplo, El-p and 8-bit. Check out the Guerolito mini-site for some hot Qrio action in the video for “Hell Yes.”
As you know, we here at Crashpod have been very bullish on the adoption of RSS for all your web browsing needs. Well it was with great delight that I read today of a new service Google is offering with all Gmail accounts. Gmail Clips, announced on the official Google blog, allows you to see web clips from right inside your Gmail account. This should make your inbox a little bit more of an interesting place and the feeds may even result in inspiration for emails! This service is free and already in place for all Gmail users. Just click on the “Settings” link at the top of your inbox. And if you don’t have a Gmail account, what are you waiting for? I have about 100 invites, if you need one send me an email. Unless you are Ryan. Homeboy wastes invites like Master Chief in a Grunt nursery…
