Apparently, Apple’s networking software, Bonjour is getting ported over to the Windows platform! I have not used Bonjour in the past as the Crashhaus only has two macs (both laptops) ever in use at any given time. However, now that the 3 Windows PCs are invited to the party it becomes a very tempting proposition indeed!
Bonjour is supposed to simplify file sharing, printer networking and just basic “gettingalongness” between computers and computer hardware. According to Apple’s Bonjour site, every major printer manufacturer has adopted the technology so it should be a snap to add and remove them from your network. In my experience nothing regarding printer configuration is “a snap,” but I am more than willing to give it a try!
The Bonjour for Windows 1.0.2 Beta is available for download from Apple’s Bonjour site.

If web 2.0 is all about collaboration and creating multiuser environments online, then Yakalike is definitely a concept that I hope to see succeed in the 2.0 revolution.
Yakalike is a simple Firefox extension that will allow anyone visiting a webpage to chat with others visiting that same page in a window at the bottom of their browser. This would be great for blogs and other interest sites not to mention the larger news outlets. The best part is it seems to operate solely through the user’s browser and requires no setup on the part of the website. I could see this creating a whole new way to meet people and find out about sites and news on the web.
It seems to be a fairly popular service already, resulting in them closing off new user accounts for the time being. However, you are still able to download the plugin and check out what may be the future of collaborative surfing.
