Apparently, Apple’s networking software, Bonjour is getting ported over to the Windows platform! I have not used Bonjour in the past as the Crashhaus only has two macs (both laptops) ever in use at any given time. However, now that the 3 Windows PCs are invited to the party it becomes a very tempting proposition indeed!
Bonjour is supposed to simplify file sharing, printer networking and just basic “gettingalongness” between computers and computer hardware. According to Apple’s Bonjour site, every major printer manufacturer has adopted the technology so it should be a snap to add and remove them from your network. In my experience nothing regarding printer configuration is “a snap,” but I am more than willing to give it a try!
The Bonjour for Windows 1.0.2 Beta is available for download from Apple’s Bonjour site.

Yo man, that sounds nice and all, but how about getting a waste networking running on your apple and then helping Bloom get one running on his. Let’s face it, it’s been a long time since we all got wasted.
Man, waste is OLD news. You’ve got to look toward Hamachi to find a modern file sharing environment. There’s supposed to be a mac version coming pretty soon, this wouuld be a great way to share…
“There’s supposed to be a mac version coming pretty soon”
Wow, don’t you mac guys ever get sick of hearing that?
Can you believe it’s 2006, and we still don’t have a clever way to send large files to each other over the internet?
“Wow, don’t you mac guys ever get sick of hearing that?”
It’s not as bad as hearing “Windows Vista has been delayed yet again”
Yeah, how is it 2006 and we can’t transmit files directly into each other’s neural memory banks? Talk about disappointing…
