Justin suggested we start posting top 5 lists of cool trends, gadgets, and general zeitgeist phenomenon we’re seeing at any given time, and I couldn’t agree more. I’m getting the ball rolling with this list of the essential albums that are accompanying my work days, as I toil with hammer and steel at the mighty anvil of the Interweb.
What music is keeping you company?
Edit: Dropped The White Stripes in favor of Boards of Canada.

Barbara Steisand - Guilty
Vixen - Vixen
Billy Ray Cyrus - Some Gave All
Big Al Carson - Take Your Drunken Ass Home
Barbie - Barbie Sings!: The Princess Movie Song Collection
Isn’t that Ratatat album hot? I told you that would make your top 5! I rock the Rat while studying constantly. Other data bundles swimming through my iTunes at any given moment:
M83 - “DeadCities, RedSeas&LostGhosts” as well as “Before the Dawn Heals Us”
Gustavo Santaolalla - “The Motorcycle Diaries Soundtrack”
Mice Parade - “Obrigando Saudade”
Boards of Canada - “Campfire Headphase”
Yeah, Ratatat is really shocking me with how much distored guitar can sound like old school videogame music. Also, I’m going to request no one ever says “rock the rat” again. Ever.
I can’t believe I left out Campfire Headphase! That’s been at #1 for the last week actually, but I wrote that post without having my iTunes library available, so I forgot about it!
