Boing Boing has a bizarre post about a special kind of wasp, the
Ampulex compressa, that uses its stinger to perform a type of brain surgery on roaches and then takes control of them. This thing will actually dive-bomb a roach, slip its stinger into the roach’s brain, and then use the roach’s antennae to steer it back home and lay an egg in it.
