That’s it, I’m calling it. As of April 10, 2006, my faithful 3G iPod has been diagnosed with the dreaded click of death. For now I can listen to the music that I’ve already loaded, but any attempt to load new music results in an infinite click that crashes iTunes. It’s a sad moment that some even compare to the loss of a dear pet, but it’s times like this that demand a strong upper lip.
I guess I need to start shopping for a new puppy with which to stifle my grief. What do you guys think? I’m leaning towards the flash based nano, but that’s not to say the copious drive space of the Video isn’t appealing.

If you can find the video at a good price I’d go with that. I mean who doesn’t want to watch side-splitting episodes of Will and Grace on the go?
why dont you break free of apple and try something different you crazy apple fanatic
Man bloom, where’s my sympath during this moment of grief? Besides, everybody knows that Microsoft’s “play for sure” technology is total hogwash.
Hey im an economist (err sort of), and while I enjoy the iPod, in the interest of market diversification, i urge YOU to expand the possibilities, forge new frontiers, see what others have to offer. You shouldnt be so foolish to imagine that Apple could never become a restrictive monopolistic beast that will stifle your creativity and abilities with some silly AAC nonsense, a wheel that doesnt actually move, and ultra sheek minimalistic styling that makes you beg for more, but gives you less.
You could just hire a midget to follow you around all day and sing for you. Maybe get a little belt clip for him.
The 20 is available….
Nano(or other equivalent solid-state memory digital music player), without a boubt. Here’s why:
How often in your life are you THAT far away from a video display when you need it. You already have a PSP at your disposal.
Also, you spend alot of time at the helm of your commute, rather than mindless mass-transit. You don’t need to be watching anything other than the rest of the traffic shrinks in your rear view.
Don’t you also trail ride and snow board? Wouldn’t you feel secure that the sturdy solid-state can take a bump or two? The less moving parts, the better!
