It’s that time of the year again Crashnauts: E3 will be upon us May 9th, and it’s shaping up to be one of the bests expos ever. Gamespot has the best summary of impending news I’ve come across, and the breadth and scope of said news is impressive indeed.
Obviously everyone is waiting with bated breath for what Sony will be showing off of the PS3: is it really more powerful than its underdog competition the Xbox 360? Can Sony really come to E3 2006 without playable versions of their next generation console?
Then of course there’s Nintendo’s revolution “Wii”, which, I just don’t know. They’re really serious about that name though, so we’re going to have to get used to it. So far Penny Arcade has had the best commentary on that subject, even going so far as to dub the motion activated controllers “Wiimotes”.
Of course to top it all off Microsoft will be turning their installed base of Xbox 360s into E3 video conduits, serving up possibly even 720p trailers and interviews straight from the show floor. Playable versions of the 360’s big guns Too Human and Gears of War will be in attendance, and in an effort to crush any lingering opposition to their relevance in the industry, Microsoft will top off their E3 presence with a 2 minute preview of Halo 3.
It’s going to be an event like no other.
What are you looking forward to from this year’s E3?

I am easily looking forward to Halo 3. But I with all this PS3 talk, I am very interesting in seeing if it is all it’s hyped up to be.
