Google’s latest service offering, Google Notebook seems to have gone live this week to little fanfare. The service acts as a Firefox or IE extension and allows you to make notes and capture URLs while surfing around the web. It also does a surprisingly good job adding pictures into your notes, utilizing a simple drag-and-drop procedure. Notes can be private or public, allowing for simple sharing similar to del.icio.us though with a much more attractive interface. Once the extension is installed, a “Note This” option is added to the user’s right click contextual menu. Adding a note from a webpage is as simple as highlighting a block of text (pictures included) and clicking this option.

The search for alternative modes of transportation continues
with the invention of the Monowheel. The creator of this single-wheeled marvel has reached speeds of up to 57mph, setting the land speed record for a one wheeled vehicle. The inventor is from Walled Lake, Michigan and has been tinkering with the idea for the past 30 years. It sure does look a lot more comfortable than the one Mr. Garrison invented on South Park. Check out the Detroit Free Press video after the jump!
