Ryan and I managed to get out to the theater this weekend for the opening of Snakes on a Plane with Mr. Samuel L. Jackson. In case you’ve been living underground for the past year, this movie has gotten possibly the most internet hype of any film to date. It was with very high expectations of cheezy greatness that we entered the theater and I tell you dear readers, we were not dissapointed. Not by a longshot. SOAP has so many classic scenes and quotable one-liners that it would be useless to try to recreate them here. Just know that once the snakes get loose, the film jams the accelerator to the floor and does not let up until the very end. Though we did not manage to bring along the Snakes on a Plane Participation Script, I foresee many viewings in our future when it could be of use. Indeed, at this point it would be almost impossible for the film to not reach cult status, evidenced by the dedication of SOAP fans that watched the film for 24 hours on the opening night. There is a great blog/review of that experience here. Be sure to check out some of the blogger’s favorite lines from the film as they are inline with our own.
After all the months of hype, including T-shirts, songs, photoshopped pictures and much, much more I’m so glad that the film really lived up to its name. It didn’t try to be anything more, and it certainly was nothing less, than mf’n snakes….on a mf’n plane.

Whilst chating with a fellow fan, an idea was brought up that more “audience participation” movies should be made. Not a new concept by far, however, Star Wars and Rocky Horror were not written or intended to be participatory movies. The fact that a SOAP participation script has been writtten already suggests that there is a niche that has not really been explored by holly OR baliwood. Who knows, a few good APMs could help to revive a stale segment of the entertainment industry. Any thoughts?
I found this today as I surfed the web at my new job. Since I am the IT director part of my job is to keep up on Bleeding Edge trends in the tech field… What better place to read up on the latest happenings in Technology than Crashpod.
In anycase here is a link that has nothing to do with technology but is sweet and savory…??? I guess only sweet if you add jam.

oops… the link would help http://www.slashfood.com/2006/08/22/snakes-on-some-toast/
Awwww right, Areoseppp is offically employed! Not only am I amazed that these people took the time to make a toast-portrait of SOAP, but they actually got the logo near perfect… remarkable!
