Ryan and I managed to get out to the theater this weekend for the opening of Snakes on a Plane with Mr. Samuel L. Jackson. In case you’ve been living underground for the past year, this movie has gotten possibly the most internet hype of any film to date. It was with very high expectations of cheezy greatness that we entered the theater and I tell you dear readers, we were not dissapointed. Not by a longshot. SOAP has so many classic scenes and quotable one-liners that it would be useless to try to recreate them here. Just know that once the snakes get loose, the film jams the accelerator to the floor and does not let up until the very end. Though we did not manage to bring along the Snakes on a Plane Participation Script, I foresee many viewings in our future when it could be of use. Indeed, at this point it would be almost impossible for the film to not reach cult status, evidenced by the dedication of SOAP fans that watched the film for 24 hours on the opening night. There is a great blog/review of that experience here. Be sure to check out some of the blogger’s favorite lines from the film as they are inline with our own.
After all the months of hype, including T-shirts, songs, photoshopped pictures and much, much more I’m so glad that the film really lived up to its name. It didn’t try to be anything more, and it certainly was nothing less, than mf’n snakes….on a mf’n plane.

Oh man, this story was pretty crazy when I first read it, but now that I’ve seen the picture
that goes along with it, I just had to share it with our loyal readers. Sebastian is a one-year old Persian cat that had a severe dental problem involving a significant underbite. Luckily his owner, a dentist, had the skill and materials to correct the problem with feline-sized crowns for Sebastian’s teeth. To avoid breaking, Sebastian’s owner upgraded the cat’s grill with gold crowns costing $900 apiece. With his new look, I’m thinking that Sebastian will probably be able to chase dogs around the neighborhood!

The cast of robots making an appearance in the upcoming Transformers movie has been
released, along with cheezy descriptions of said bots by the screenwriters. No Kup, no Soundwave and no Ultra Magnus, but there are a few names in there that should ring with some amount of nostalgia. I’m still disappointed that Bumble Bee isn’t going to be a Volkswagen, but what can you do?

Did everyone see the slick new look for Del.icio.us? They have a totally revamped layout that
displays thumbnail pics of all your bookmarked pages and “Digg-style” tallys for how many other people bookmarked the same sites. For those new to Del.icio.us, it is a social bookmarking service where you can store your bookmarks for access on any computer as well as share them with other users and groups. One of the really nice things about the site is the ability to add links to your account using their bookmarklet. Whenever you are surfing the web and come upon a site that you like, you just click a button in your browser’s toolbar and that site will be added to your Del.icio.us account along with whatever tags you would like to associate with it. It is one of the first (that I remember) truly web 2.0 sites that completely embraced the collaborative powers of the net.
