I was pleasantly surprised to log into the iTMS today and find that MTV’s The State
Season 1 is now available for download! Not many people recall the early 90’s skit comedy show but I counted myself among its few dedicated fans during the short time that it was on air. Sketches like ‘$240 Worth of Pudding,’ ‘Doug and Dad’ and ‘Louie’ (I wanna dip my balls in it!) still make me chuckle to this day. Many of the original cast members have gone on to do other notable work (Reno 911!, I Love the 90s, Viva Variety) and during college, The State’s bestselling book State by State with the State was a staple of all my road trips. It’s great to finally get the chance to see the original show again and see where it all began. According to The State’s Official Website, subsequent seasons may be released on iTMS based on the popularity of the original season. I hope this happens as there are some classic skits in later seasons!

If you’ve ever tried Line Rider you will appreciate how amazing this video is. The simulator starts with a blank white screen that users can draw lines on using the mouse. Once you have your lines drawn, a little sledder will start going downhill at your upmost left line. There is no eraser tool and the physics dictating how your sledder will react are very sensitive. If the lines are too steep, he will wipe out. If they are not steep enough, he won’t have the necessary momentum and will get stuck. That’s to say nothing of the wild jumps, loops and scenery that this user has created. Bravo!
Here’s some other great creations:
Underwater Theme
Spelunking

Ryan and I are headed home for the weekend so the site will be pretty quiet for the next few days. We’ve got some big announcements after the holiday though, so be sure to stay tuned!
From both of us here at Crashpod HQ, have a happy Thanksgiving!

The kooky scientists at Eepy Bird are at it again in this new Diet Coke and Mentos video. They are upping the ante by starting a single reaction that cascades into multiple other reactions. What I really like about the experiments that these guys run is the style with which they are pulled off. It almost looks like some kind of “dancing water fountain” that you would see at a resort.
